The fourth annual Educators Summit hosted by the CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap brought together TK-12 educators, higher education faculty and education administrators for a day of learning, collaboration and inspiration.
This year’s summit featured inspiring Ed Talk speakers Marlene Carter from UCLA Writing Project and Bridgette Donald-Blue, California Teacher of the Year who shared their insights and experiences in education centered around the theme “Rooted in Resilience: Cultivating Educator Courage and Care.” Another highlight of the event was the Student Panel, which included high school and college students, and was led by California Teacher of the Year, Sovey Long-Latteri. The panel provided a platform for students to voice their perspectives and experiences. The Summit also offered seven breakout sessions that focused on key educational strategies and practices including: Universal Design for Learning, Restorative Justice, Trauma-Informed Education and Cultural Reads. These sessions provided attendees with valuable tools and knowledge to enhance their educational practices and support student success.
The fifth annual CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap Educators Summit will be on July 25, 2025. We hope you can attend.
