Educators Summit 2022

July 29, 2022

The second annual Educators Summit hosted by the CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap brought together hundreds of TK-12 educators and higher education faculty for a day focused on engaging teachers across the state. The in-person and virtual event sought to address teaching through and beyond the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic.

With the theme of Renewal & Rebuilding, our keynote speaker, Tony Thurmond, and distinguished EdTalk speakers, Sovey Long-Latteri and Jose Rivas, validated teachers’ lived experiences and humanity during the pandemic while also offering us hope, inspiration and encouragement as we head into the new school year. Furthermore, our breakout session teams offered critical insight, dialogue, and examples about student & teacher mental health, social-emotional learning, and inclusive and anti-racist practices for our most marginalized student groups.

The next CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap Educators Summit will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023. We hope to see you there.
