2022 Educators Summit: Relief, Recovery & Rebuilding

The CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap is excited to host its second annual conference for TK-12 educators and other school professionals at CSU Long Beach. The 2022 Educators Summit is free of charge and will provide the opportunity for teachers to come together, listen to national keynote speaker Tony Thurmond as well as 2022 California Teacher of the Year, Sovey Long-Latteri. 

Participants will also engage with fellow practitioners during breakout sessions facilitated by teacher leaders, scholars, and TK-12 practitioners around this year’s theme, Relief, Recovery & Rebuilding. These 45-minute interactive sessions will address the following current topics of interest:

  • Academic & inclusive supports for diverse learners
  • Anti-racist/anti-bias teaching 
  • Culturally responsive and sustaining practices
  • Equity-driven Leadership
  • Family support and collaboration
  • Social-emotional learning
  • Student mental health/trauma-informed care
  • Supports for foster and homeless youth
  • Teacher mental health/coping strategies
